The Shralpinist kit is focused on extreme weather or long expeditions where you can only bring one jacket and pant so it has to perform in all conditions for a long time. I took my Shralpinist kit on two Alaska expeditions last season and lived in it through some of the most extreme weather events I've ever witnessed for over six weeks. The waterproofing and durability of the Shralpinist jacket and pants were essential for trips like these where getting wet could have resulted in a dangerous situation.
