Where is your favorite place to snowboard and why?
I can't get enough of the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem. It's paradise for people who like to walk in wild places. We usually get deep winters with a relatively stable snowpack, and there is plenty of relief for both powder riding and shred mountaineering.
What has snowboarding or the mountains taught you?
That nothing is permanent and that most things in life are dynamic and will change. Just like pow laps with your buds, there will be ups and downs, so try to take advantage of opportunities. And like those remote places you visit on a splitboard, you never know when you will be coming back that way.
Tell us about one incredible snowboarding achievement or moment.
2018 on Denali with the Denali Surf Team comes to mind. Everybody thought we were clowns, which we were, but we rode a lot of lines not many people have done in prime conditions and good style. And we were a group of 9 which is a big posse for the success we found.
What are you passionate about besides snowboarding?
I love to fish and take photos. I've always been interested in wildlife and natural sciences, especially things related to fisheries and fresh water. Photography has been a means of exploring those landscapes for me.
