Jones team rider Miikka Hast is a true powder hunter. From Norway to Canada to Japan to AK, Miikka is always on the search for the best snow conditions on Earth.
This winter has been no exception. Miikka has been getting after it. He started his season splitboarding by head lamp near the Arctic Circle in Tamok, Norway before storm chasing to Japan in January.

"My powder season started where the last one ended - Tamok, Norway. The terrain was familiar but the time and day were completely different from spring. The sun does not rise above the horizon during December and January. Night reigns the early winter in these latitudes. Only northern lights and stars light up the black stage when clouds are not playing curtains to the show. The riding has to be well timed since there is only few hours of daylight. Headlamps light the way up before the dim daylight starts to glow on the mountains. You want to be riding down when the short day is at it’s brightest. When the sky is clear, the light is really unique and beautiful..."
